Geoff sustained a traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures as a result of being struck by a motor vehicle while crossing a busy city street.

His injuries significantly impaired his cognitive abilities including reading, concentration, memory and fatigue, and physically impaired his sight, hearing, balance, strength and mobility. Geoff’s condition and limitations were further exacerbated by additional stressors following the loss of his long-term employment over the same period.

The LSA have provided Geoff with various medical services, assistive tools and financial supports to help him develop effective coping strategies and to rebuild his confidence and psychological well-being.

Geoff has a strong desire contribute to the LSA through the PRG and mentoring programs, drawing upon his unique experiences and understanding of the difficulties faced by others who are similarly injured.

“The dedicated and professional Service Planners and staff have provided me with valuable and significant support and encouragement that has been instrumental towards my current rehabilitation.”

“I want to assist the LSA with the PRG and a mentoring role as a way of paying back the support that my family and I very much needed and continue to appreciate.”
